One of the great college party themes is the Anything But Clothes Party, also known as an ABC party.  The great thing about an anything but clothes party, surprise surprise, is that pretty much anything goes.  This can be one of the funniest parties to attend because there is no way to predict what kind of outfit or costume your guests will arrive in.  Guests will arrive in anything from costumes to bed sheets, to just plastic cups covering important areas.  It is amazing the things people will wear to a college party.  Both guys and girls included.  How to throw an ABC Party?
Decorations:

There is no set decorations for an ABC party, the variation of ideas are just too broad.  The best way to go about it is to just put tons of random things around the party area.  Use balloons, crazy posters, banners, whatever you think the guests will get a laugh out of.  It’s an unorganized party theme and the decorations should reflect that.
Drinks/Snacks (Standard for All College Parties):

  • Beer! This may sound obvious, but it gets forgotten too often.  If you plan on supplying the beer, then make sure to buy a keg with a party tap.  Beer goes fast, so make sure you plan accordingly.
  • Make sure to have plenty of snacks.  Pretzels are always a good touch, as are chips and dip.  People love trail mix as well.
  • I recommend making the hard alcohol a B.Y.O.B. occasion.  Hard alcohol is expensive and adds up quick.  You are already hosting the party, so make the guests help out by bringing something to drink.

What to Wear: Ideas

  • Beer Boxes
  • Plastic Bags
  • Duct Tape (but be careful, can be very painful to remove if done incorrectly)
  •  Body paint
  • Caution tape
  • School girl outfit
  • Halloween costumes
  • Bubble wrap
  • Rugs
  • Towel
  • Card board box
  • Flag
  • Shrink wrap
  • Nothing at all (technically an option but rarely ever used)
  • Look around your home or dorm and just see what you can come up with.  Don’t be afraid to be creative and out of the norm!

If you are looking for a party where girls love to show a little extra skin, one of the best sexy college party themes is the CEOs and Office Hoes Party also known as COEs and Corporate Hoes party.  Most people love to go to these parties.  The men get to dress up in their nicest business attire and girls dress ass sexy secretaries.  Of course, only wear something you are willing to get dirty.  This is a college party after all, never know who will get drunk and spill something. How to plan for a CEOs and Office Hoes Party?

Decorations:

  • Cheap easy things to use are just general office supplies that you can get at the dollar store and just throw them all around the house.
  • Get inflatable versions of office supplies such as an inflatable pencil or stapler
  • Motivation posters are a fun and funny way to add decorations on the walls
  • If possible, get a water cooler and fill it with some kind of jungle juice or other type of alcoholic punch that people gather around and get drinks from. Don’t put the fruit in though, it will clog the cheap water cooler faucet

Drinks (Party Specific): Try to stick with the sophisticated party theme

  • Scotch: Glenlivet, Chivas and Macallan are great choices.  They can be pricey, so it is ok to go with cheaper scotch if needed
  • If you have someone who enjoys being a bartender, then start making some specialty drinks to keep things fun
    • Martini
    • Cosmopolitans
    • Manhattans

What to Wear

Men: The men usually wear their nicest business attire that they have.  If possible this is a suit.  Obviously a suit is the most formal attire and great way to walk into a party.  Not only will you feel great in your suit, but girls love men in suits.  A lot of the guys will come in lesser clothing, but they are at a disadvantage with the girls.

Hoes: The ladies wear the sexiest office attire they can imagine.  The colors should be mostly black and white but can have some red also.  The main attire is a tight fitting corset, a tiny skirt or only barely covering panties, stockings and high heels.  Girls can also wear men’s button up shirts with a tie.

One of the all-time great college party themes is the toga party.  I have not once met someone who didn’t have fun (unless the host was terrible).  Not only does it remind people of the great college party movie animal house, it has been stained into our memory ever since.  They sat the bar pretty high.  And I have to admit, there is just something fun about wearing a toga. I am not totally sure if this is true, but I have heard that Australians throw the most toga parties.  Here are suggestions to having the best toga party possible….

Decorations:

  • Cover the party rooms with as much white and gold as you can find.  Gold spray paint on sheets or anything else is also a very good touch.
  • Anything Greek: lots of grapevines, goblets for drinking, oil burning lamps if you are feeling crazy
  • Buy or make lots of extra Laurel wreaths (the vine hat you see Greeks wearing), people love those.  And all the extras can be spread around as decoration
  • Candles are a great touch, but depends on how crazy your party is going to get that may not be safe
  • Balloons are always a good touch, and are very low cost.  Just hang out as many gold and white balloons as you can reasonably fit

Drinks/Snacks (standard):

  • Beer! This may sound obvious, but it gets forgotten too often.  If you plan on supplying the beer then make sure to buy a keg with a party tap.  Beer goes by fast so make sure you plan accordingly
  • Make sure to have plenty of snacks.  Pretzels are always a good touch as well as chips and dip.  People love trail mix as well.
  • I recommend making the hard alcohol a B.Y.O.B. occasion.  Hard alcohol is expensive and adds up quick.  You are already hosting the party, make the guests help out by bringing something to drink

What to Wear

Generally all toga party costumes are made from some random fabric or a sheet.  You can also buy them online but no need to waste the money, there are plenty of sites that give directions on how to make your own outfit.  If you have the time, I recommend going to a cloth store to get the fabric.  Not only is cloth cheaper than bed sheets normally, but you can always get some interesting patterns if you are trying to stand out a little.  Get 4 yards of it, seems to do the trick the best.  Can get more if you want to be safe, but then it just gets in the way.

Dressing Directions:

  • Attach one end of it to your waste with a clothes pin or something else secure
  • Wrap it completely around your waste (bottom should be about knee height)
  • Pin it to your waste again using whatever works best for you
  • Throw the remaining material over your shoulder
  • Wrap the remaining fabric around waist and pin it at the end

If you don’t want to run the risk of showing something you didn’t want others seeing, I recommend wearing gym shorts underneath.  They are plenty of cover and will still offer plenty of mobility.  Wear sandals if possible and it’s always fun to carry a sword and/or shield.  If you do not want to show too much upper body skin, you can always wear a t-shirt, either white or gold.

I hope this helps you, if there is something else that you would have liked to read about please leave me a comment.  Also, would love for whoever reads this to send me in some pictures of their toga party to post here.  It is great for helping others learn and always fun to see!  Email me here, if you have pictures to share.

A great college party drinking game that is played quite frequently is 7-11-Doubles. This game requires 2-8 players.  You can technically have as many players as you want, but it starts to get very crowded at the table and takes longer in between turns.  The objective is to roll a 7, 11, or a double with the two dice and make someone at the table drink.  Below is a list of equipment and rules that are needed to play 7-11-Doubles.

Equipment

  • 2 Dice
  • Table (or other flat surface people can circle around)
  • Alcohol (beer or mixed drinks)
  • Cup

Rules

Fill the cup about ¾ of the way with the selected alcohol.  This obviously can vary depending on the size of the cup and how challenging you are looking to make the game.  But for a standard red cup, ¾ works well.

To start the game, pick someone who will roll the dice first.  This is usually the host or the game organizer if the host isn’t playing.  Give them the dice and they become the Roller.  The Roller will now roll the two dice.  This leads to two possible outcomes:

  1. If the dice add up to 7 or 11, or there are doubles, the Roller chooses someone at the table to become the Drinker.  The Drinker now has to finish the drink in the center of the table before the Roller rolls the dice to add up to 7, 11, or doubles again.  The Roller cannot start rolling the dice until the Drinker touches the glass.  This can get interesting because if the Roller touches the dice before the Drinker touches the glass, then they swap roles.  Trickery is allowed and highly recommended.  Once the Drinker touches the drink, the Roller rolls the dice as fast as he can over and over until he gets the required roll.   If the Roller rolls a 7, 11, or doubles before the Drinker finishes his or her drink, then the glass is refilled and the turn is repeated.  If the Drinker finishes the drink before the Roller can roll a 7, 11, or doubles, then it is the end of the turn and the Roller passes the dice to the Drinker, he or she becomes the Roller and the game starts over again.  As a fun side note, anyone at the table is allowed to “save” the Drinker.  This means that someone at the table grabs the drink and tries to beat the Roller.  If they fail, then they become the new Drinker.
  2. If the Roller does not roll a 7, 11, or doubles, then their turn is over. They then pass the dice to the next person in the circle and the game starts over.

One of my favorite college party themes is the Black Light Party.  To have the best black light party possible, it needs to be pitch black.  The idea behind a black light party is that everyone shows up in white t-shirts. They then use glow-in-the-dark pens to write all over each other’s shirts.  The best part of a black light party is seeing what people will have written on them by the end of the night.  It is very interesting to read your shirt the next day or as the party comes to a close.  Just like all other parties, make sure to hide all valuables and breakables in another room.  How to throw a Black Light Party?

Decorations:

  • The party should be at night so that it is as dark as possible in the rooms.
  • Replace all the lights with black lights.  Use as many as possible because it will only get better with more black lights.
  • Cover the tables with tablecloths that have fun patterns and will react with the black light.
  • Get glow-in-the-dark plastic cups for beer pong and other events.  They can be used just like the standard red cup; they are just more fun to see.
  • If there is going to be any plates, straws or things of that nature, try to get the ones that glow-in-the-dark also.
  • Strobe lights are also a nice addition.  Just ask around before the party because there is usually at least someone coming to the party that has one. There is no need to buy another if that is the case.
  • Have plenty of black light markers so that everyone can grab one and start writing all over one another.
  • If possible, have a few extra crappy white shirts for people who cannot handle the pressure of dressing up correctly for the party.  A pack or two of undershirts from Wal-Mart or a similar store will work fine.
  • For those looking to take it to the next level, cover the walls in black butcher paper and paint fun designs all over them.

What to Wear

Dressing for a Black Light Party is very easy.  In the most general form, all you need is a white shirt.  Make sure that it is a white shirt that you do not mind ruining.  The shirt is going to get written on by many people in many colors and the writing will never come out.  A lot of people keep the shirts just for fun if there is something good written on them; but, for the most part, they are just thrown away the next day.  If you want to have a little more fun with the outfit, then try to find something that has a fun pattern and reacts to black lights.

It is also a good idea to wear glow stick bracelets and necklaces.  Don’t be afraid to bring extras for others.  A lot of people will forget them and want to borrow yours.
